7 June 9.30-5.30 at Turanga
Speaking 4 the Planet is nearly here and we have some of the top students across Christchurch participating. Facebook event here
This new competition creates the space for Intermediate and High school students to showcase their passion for our planet, and their talents in public speaking and visual art.
Over the last month the students have been busy writing, drawing, painting and many schools are holding their own competitions to choose the best to go through to our main event.
Come and support our next leaders and advocates for the planet on the UN’s World Environment Day themes of #airpollution #beatplasticpollution.
You’re welcome anytime throughout the day to hear prepared speeches, impromptu speeches and spoken word. The visual art exhibition is open for viewing all day.
We would like to acknowledge the brilliant sponsors: Sustainable Initiatives Fund, Ara Institute, Christchurch City Libraries, Christchurch Arts Festival, EarthSeaSky, The Drawing Room, Orana Park, The Rubbish Whisperer, Remix Plastic and Flourish.
This event is put on by Sustainable Ōtautahi Christchurch and the local branch of NZ Association for Environmental Education.
